Athletic Training Education Program
Jessica Young, M.S., ATC, LAT
Jessica Young currently serves as the Program Director for the SWOSU Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). Jessica began her career at SWOSU as ATEP Clinical Coordinator in July 2006 and assumed the duties of ATEP Director in August 2010. Her responsibilities include oversight of the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program and instruction of courses within the ATEP.
Jessica is originally from Nebraska, born and raised on a farm south of the small town of Filley. Prior to coming to SWOSU, she was an instructor and athletic trainer for Burke High School within the Omaha Public School System. During her time there Jessica designed and implemented one of the top 10 awarded high school athletic training programs in the country.
Jessica received a Masters of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2005 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2000. She became a Certified Athletic Trainer from the Board of Certification in August of 2000.
