B.S.Ed. Natural Science Education

(Chemistry emphasis)

At SWOSU, Science Education has been housed in the Department of Chemistry and Physics for several years. Content and Methods courses have been developed to prepare future educators in the latest research based science education practices available. The instructors in Science Education have earned Ph.D.'s in their specific discipline as well as M. S. degrees in an area of science content.

Each student in the Elementary Education program is required to take 3124, 3214, and 3314 - which are content laboratory courses - as well as 4352 - Methods of Science.

Each student pursuing a high school certification is required to earn a Bachelor's degree in a specific science discipline and take 4843 Teachers Course in Science.
