Submission Guidelines for Westview
We are currently accepting submissions of high quality poetry, fiction, nonfiction and illustration. We accept both free verse and formal poetry. Include a short biographical sketch to include in our contributor's notes. Paper submissions should be typewritten on white 8.5 x 11 inch paper; poetry should be single spaced, and prose should be double spaced. Include the author's name on each piece.
We accept 3.5 inch (1.44mb) floppy disk submissions formatted for either IBM or Macintosh as long as a paper copy accompanies the disk. Send all snail mail submissions and correspondence to Dr. Jim Silver, Editor, Westview, 100 Campus Drive, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma 73096. Submissions of artwork should be suitable for black and white reproduction with the exception of potential artwork for the color cover which should be transparency images. The work should not exceed 8.5 x 14 inches. Larger works should be photographed for submission.
We accept submissions electronically as well, and the digital image should be in JPEG, PICT, or TIFF format. Images with a file size in excess of 100 kilobytes will require using a file transfer method. E-mail westview@swosu.edu for more information on submissions with large file sizes.
