Paul Hummel has been employed by Southwestern Oklahoma State University since 2008. He started as an adjunct SCUBA Instructor, becoming full time in 2009. Paul currently serves as Director and Law Enforcement Ranger at Crowder Lake University Park. He is also an Instructor in the Parks and Recreation Management Department and the SWOSU Swimming Pool Manager.
Prior to employment at SWOSU, Paul worked for the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department at Red Rock Canyon State Park, was a volunteer firefighter and worked as a SCUBA Instructor on Maui, Hawaii for four years.
Paul holds both Bachelor of Science in Recreation Leadership and Master of Education in Parks and Recreation Management degrees from SWOSU. He also is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School ‘s Backpacking and Rock Climbing courses and the Wilderness Medical Institute’s Wilderness First Responder Course. Paul is a CLEET certified Oklahoma Reserve Law Enforcement Officer.
