Be a Part of SAGE

There are many opportunities for SWOSU students, faculty and staff – as well as for community members, businesses and organizations – to be a part of this camp. The Southwest Alliance for Girls’ Enrichment (SAGE) is looking for volunteers with a commitment to science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) education to assist with activities, field trips and general camp needs during the week of camp.

Opportunities include:

  • Camp counselors
  • Dorm monitor
  • Health director
  • Workshop teachers
  • Workshop assistants
  • Field trip hosts
  • Mentors for the STEAM speed-meeting Event
  • General volunteers to assist with camp events
  • Planning committee member

…Or any way you want to share ideas and/or resources, as we work to raise funds for and develop the SAGE STEAM camp curriculum.

Because 90 percent of this camp will be funded by grants and donations, the SAGE Camp cannot be done without the help of dedicated volunteers. Note that we offer a stipend, room and board for some camp positions – however, this amount is minimal compared with the time and energy required for the camp to be successful. Helping with this camp to provide unique learning experiences is a great way to enable girls discover their passion for and potential in STEAM.

Volunteers should be over 18 years-of-age and willing to undergo a background check. All potential volunteers must first apply with the SAGE STEAM camp, and then will be asked to complete further paperwork with the Planning Committee. For more information, contact the Camp Director at 580.774.3148 or sagesteamcamp@gmail.com
