Academic Coordinator for Underrepresented Students

The primary focus is the participation and success of underrepresented students in the college environment. This is accomplished through promoting awareness, understanding, and support for underrepresented students and organizations. It is also accomplished by sharing as a whole through education and cross-cultural communication. 

This office’s responsibility includes academic and career advisement, support and guidance of students in the continuation of their educational plans, meeting with students on campus as well as visits to area high schools to encourage students complete application/admissions requirements for the university. It also serves as advocate liaison with educational directors, faculty, and university life, organizes campus visitation days, networks with faculty, seeks externally funded grants, and promotes underrepresented students with state and federal partnerships.

The Academic Coordinator for Underrepresented Students reports to the Associate Provost for Academic and Student Affairs.
