Not all instructors use Canvas. Check with your instructor to see if they are using Canvas.
The majority of SWOSU courses use Canvas. Check with your instructor to see if they will be using it. Students are enrolled in Canvas courses the day they enroll in the course, but instructors do not always make them available to students right away. Canvas courses must be ‘Published’ by the instructor before students can access the course. If you know your instructor is using Canvas, but you don't see your course listed after the first day of the quarter, check with your instructor to make sure they have 'Published' the course.
Canvas Orientation for Students
There is a self-paced online Student Orientation that all students can access from the Help menu at the top right side of any Canvas screen, or the link at the bottom of any Canvas screen. You can also access it directly at https://swosu.instructure.com/courses/5745. If you are new to Canvas, we highly recommend you complete the orientation course. Most students are able to learn Canvas by following the tutorials in the Orientation. If you need additional assistance learning Canvas, you can visit us in EDUC 210, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Within Canvas, you can also use the Help menu at the top right side of the screen to Report a Problem. Please be specific when reporting a problem, include your course, section, semester, and browser. For self-help options with Canvas, please search the Canvas guides at http://guides.instructure.com/.
