DVD Creation
DVD Creation Continuing Education (CE) Activity is geared toward those who want to learn the methods and materials used to create DVDs. The instruction will lead students through shooting video and pictures, putting the video and pictures on computer, organizing the movies, then creating DVDs that will be able to be played in any DVD player. No skills or prerequisites are required. This activity is open to anyone with an interest in turning home movies or photographs into DVDs. The learner’s outcome is to learn and apply skills needed to create DVDs, create DVDs that are technically and artistically sound, and evaluate material needed for construction of quality DVDs.

Instructor Biography:
Mr. Joel Kendall currently is an instructor in the Communication and Theatre Department at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). Mr. Kendall joined SWOSU as faculty in 1998. In 1994, Mr. Kendall received his Bachelor’s degree in news-editorial journalism at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and in 1996, he received his Master’s degree in journalism at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Mr. Kendall has served in a variety of career positions. He worked as an editor-in-chief, city reporter, and sports reporter for several city newspapers, as well as, an assistant instructor for Indiana University and a media liaison for a state fairgrounds organization. He works extensively with various computer systems such as Power Macintosh (G4, Power PC), NeXT and PCs, and computer applications such as Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, QuarkXpress, Microsoft Office, Claris works, and News Edit Pro.
