16th Annual Student Research Fair

Information and Instructions

The 16th Annual Student Research and Scholarly Activity Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in the Ballroom of the Student Center. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 6, 2009. No applications will be considered beyond the deadline. No posters or podium presentations will be allowed without a completed and accepted application.

The application process is online only. If you have difficulty completing the application, please contact Dr. Johnson for assistance. Please read and follow the instructions carefully. Upon submission, you will receive a notice indicating that the application has been submitted. Notification of acceptance of the application will follow within a few days thereafter.

Setup will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Dr. John Hays, President of SWOSU, will be present to welcome everyone at 12:15 p.m. Posters should be made available for viewing between 11:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Students should be available for questions at their posters until 2:00 p.m.

Podium presentations will begin at 12:30 p.m. and are scheduled every 20 minutes, which includes approximately 10 minutes for the presentation, 5 minutes for questions and answers, and 5 minutes intermission in preparation for the next presenter. Presentations will be made in the SkyView Room, designed to accommodate 15 to 20 people.

NEW poster display panels will be used at this year’s Research Fair. One side of the panel will be provided for each poster presentation, measuring 78”h X 50”w and offering both the “velcro” and “push-pin” style for attaching posters. Those who wish to use the table and tri-fold poster board format of previous years must request this option on the application.
