Oklahoma Research Day 2006

Oklahoma Research Day 2006, originally scheduled for December 1, 2006, but cancelled due to an ice storm, was held April 6, 2007, on the University of Central Oklahoma campus in Edmond, Oklahoma. The keynote speaker for the banquet honoring the presenters was Dr. Glen Johnson, the new Chancellor for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The annual event is organized by the Council on Research for Regional Universities. Provost Blake Sonobe and Anita Blankenship, Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs, are the SWOSU representatives on the council.

Each year, Oklahoma Research Day provides an opportunity for regional university students and faculty from all disciplines to showcase their research activities. Participating SWOSU students and faculty represented the following SWOSU Colleges: 1) College of Arts and Sciences [Department of Chemistry/Physics and Department of Biology]; 2) College of Professional & Graduate Studies [School of Allied Health, Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology and Department of Entrepreneurship and Computer Systems].
