Administration Building - Room 205

The Public Relations & Marketing Office is responsible for all publicity of activities and events concerning the University as they relate to media sources. The office operates a news service for daily and weekly newspapers, radio and television stations, and the SWOSU web site. The office also assists in the promotion of interscholastic events and other University projects on and off campus.

Brian Adler

BRIAN ADLER started his career at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1986 and currently serves as Vice President of Public Relations & Marketing.

Adler is very involved in numerous activities at SWOSU and serves on several committees. He chairs the university’s Panorama Committee. Adler has been active in several state-wide higher education groups. He has twice served as president of the Oklahoma Communicators Council, president of the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association, and is currently treasurer of the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association.

Adler is a past president of the Weatherford Area Chamber of Commerce He has served as public affairs committee chairman three different years and served on the board of directors for five straight years. He currently serves as chair of the Weatherford Hotel/Motel Tax Committee.

He is a life-long member of Zion Church of Weatherford where he serves as church clerk and newsletter editor.

Debbie Brown

DEBBIE BROWN has worked in the SWOSU Public Relations & Marketing Office since 1993 as an administrative assistant.

Brown is an active volunteer in the city of Weatherford. She has been the First Lady of Weatherford since 2004 when her husband, Mike, became Mayor of Weatherford.

She is a past president of the Great Plains Family YMCA. She currently serves as co-director of the Miss Southwestern Scholarship Pageant Board. She also volunteers for the Weatherford Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the American Association of University Women. She is a graduate of Lawton High and a graduate of SWOSU.
