Becky McBride, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) holds a Masters Degree in Nursing Education and Post Masters certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Oklahoma. Becky has served as SWOSU Director of Health Services since January of 1998. 

What is a nurse practitioner?  A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical education and experience who is qualified to meet the majority of patients’ health care needs, such as managing most common and many chronic illnesses.  With a strong emphasis on primary care, NPs focus largely on health maintenance, disease prevention, counseling and patient education.  They are fully qualified to be involved in patient diagnosis and treatment, which also includes prescriptive authority.
