April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Self-Defense and Safety Seminars
VIPER is teaming up with the Campus Police Department to sponsor three free Self-Defense and Safety Seminars. Instructors from campus PD and faculty emeriti will discuss safety tips, promote awareness of surroundings and demonstrate how to break holds. This event is open to SWOSU students & employees and will take place in the Wellness Center gym. The times are as follows:

*The session on the 19th will be held on the Sayre campus.
Clothesline Project
VIPER will host a Clothesline Project for the fourth year in the Student Union lobby from April 16th to the 20th. This event features a come-and-go display of t-shirts decorated by students, employees and community members who have been affected by sexual assault and other forms of interpersonal violence.
SWOSU Wellness Expo April 4th
VIPER will have a booth at the upcoming Wellness Expo scheduled from 10am-2pm on Wednesday, April 4th in the Student Union. As April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, VIPER will be providing information with a focus on the various effects of sexual assault. The Wellness Expo, organized by SWOSU’s Health and Counseling Services, will feature tables from several departments on campus as well as community resources.
January is Stalking Awareness Month
To recognize January as National Stalking Awareness Month, the VIPER program has blanketed the campus with awareness materials from a banner on the Stafford building balcony to fliers and yard signs. For more information on stalking on campus, visit stalkingawarenessmonth.org
