Everett Dobson - 1996
A native of Cheyenne, Dobson was the star on Otis Delaporte’s golf teams in the late 1970’s. He was a three-time all-conference selection and was twice named to the all-district squad. Dobson graduated in 1981 from Southwestern and would later qualify and play in one U.S. Amateur, two U.S. Mid-Amateurs and two British Amateur Tournaments. He won the 1985 Oklahoma Association Four-Ball Championship as well as finishing runner-up in the 1984 Oklahoma Amateur Championship. Dobson is executive chairman of the Board of Directors for Dobson Communications Corporation, a telecommunications company bases in Oklahoma City, which provides cellular service in 17 states.
