J. P. Jackson - 1965
An all-conference lineman from Altus, Jackson together with Arnold Shockley and Jenks Simmons made the Bulldogs one of the most feared football teams in the state during the 1920’s. Jackson lettered all four years and twice was named to the all-conference team. He was also a wrestler and won conference championships at heavyweight in 1926 and 1927. He was named captain of the wrestling team in 1928. After graduation, Jackson went on to play professional football with the Boston Bulldogs in 1929.
