Joe Ross - 1965
Ross earned 13 different letters at Southwestern, four in football, three each in basketball, baseball and track. He was an all-conference football player at end and was named to the all-Oklahoma team in 1932. The team comprised of players from all state colleges, including the University of Oklahoma, Tulsa and Oklahoma A&M. Ross became one of the most respected high school football coaches in history while at Thomas High School. He won state championships in 1947, 1950, 1951, 1966, 1956, 1957 and 1961. His teams won more than 225 games while losing just 50, captured 18 district titles, 11 regional titles and eight area crowns.
