Jackie Snodgrass-Sternberger - 2005

Snodgrass was one of the most decorated women’s basketball players in Southwestern history after graduating from Ames High School in 1988. She finished her SWOSU career with 1,516 points, at the time, second most in the school history. Her 696 rebounds is the third best total ever. In one game against Southern Colorado, she pulled down 21 rebounds which stood as the school’s best effort until 1996. Her four Bulldog teams combined for an astounding 113-16 record (88% winning percentage). They made three trips to the NAIA Tournament, 1990, 1991, and 1992.

The 1990 squad finished the season with a 30-4 mark and won the NAIA national title defeating Arkansas Monticello. Snodgrass was a two-time NAIA and Kodak All-American during her career. She was a first-team selection as a junior and followed it as a second-team choice as a senior. Snodgrass went on to be a successful girls basketball coach leading three different teams to the Area Tournament -- Pond Creek-Hunter in 1995 and 1996, Hilldale in 1998 and Wagoner in 1999.
