Wilmont A. "Bullet Bill" Thompson - 1996

Thompson, a native of Amarillo, entered Southwestern in 1940 but was called away by the United States Navy to serve in the armed forces with the outbreak of World War II. He returned to Southwestern where he was starred on the 1946 football team and earned all-conference honors. He taught and coached at Boise City, Archer City, Texas, and Cordell High Schools before beginning a lengthy career at Carl Albert High School. He retired in 1984.
