Greer is known by friends as “Pee Wee”. She grew up on a farm near Waukomis where she graduated high school. After learning all there is to know about milking cows and cleaning out the chicken house, Pee Wee decided to pursue a higher education. She came to SWOSU majoring in chemistry and biology and attained her Bachelor’s degree in 1960. Before graduating, she was accepted to dental college at Washington University in St. Louis. She graduated in June, 1963 cum laude and was selected for membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon. As a senior dental student, she applied and was accepted at Washington University as their first female orthodontic student. Her formal orthodontic education was completed in the spring of 1965.
After a short stint in the lone star state of Texas, Dr. Greer opened her practice in Oklahoma City in the summer of 1966. That same year she joined the staff of the Dental department at Children’s Memorial Hospital and Saint Anthony Hospital which had dental interns and the staff orthodontist did some minor treatment and consultations. She continues to do this currently. She was the only woman dental specialist in the State for the first sixteen years of her practice which has offices in Northwest Oklahoma City, Edmond and Kingfisher.
Pee Wee is involved in the State orthodontic and local dental society, various councils and committees, and held officer positions in these. She received her American Board of Orthodontics certification in 1975, was inducted as a Fellow in the American College in 1979, and the International College of Dentists in 1996. She served on the AAO Insurance Council from 1988 to 1996 and served as a Delegate to the House of Delegates from the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists in 1989. She represented Oklahoma on the SWSO Board for five years and served a three year term as Speaker of the House of the AAO (2000-03) which also was a nonvoting member of the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Orthodontists.
She married Jim Andrews December 30, 1971. Jim is retired from Ohio Casualty Insurance Group. They have a farming business in Garfield County (no milk cows or chickens!).
