Philip Busey Jr. serves as vice president of public relations and government affairs for the Busey Group of Companies headquartered in Oklahoma City. Busey Jr. has a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Busey Jr. was honored by the Journal Record in 2008 as a “Achiever Under 40.” In 2009 he was named to Oklahoma Magazine’s “40 Under 40” and OKC Biz Magazine “Forty Under 40” for his continued contributions to the growth of the family businesses and the communities they serve.
According to the Journal Record’s Book of Lists, in 2010 the Busey Group became the 9th largest family-owned business in Oklahoma and Delaware Resource Group, a Busey Group company, became the 6th largest aerospace employer for services in the State. Busey Jr. was also honored in 2009 by the National Center for the American Indian Enterprise Development as a Native American 40 under 40 making a difference nationally in Indian Country. He serves on numerous civic boards and organizations. In 2009 he served as chairman of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, Busey Jr. was named chairman of the advisory council for the WINS Washington Semester program at American University in Washington, DC. Busey Jr. is married to the former Heather Ratcliffe of Weatherford, they have two dogs. The Buseys live in Oklahoma City and spend time at Ft. Gibson Lake in Wagoner.
