Mary Regier

Mary Regier of Cordell, Oklahoma is the 2007-2009 President of the Board of Directors for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association in Weatherford. Mary also serves the board as the Alumni Event Planning Committee Chairperson.

Mary grew up in Lomega, Ok. She received her BS in Business Administration with a minor in Journalism in 1990. While attending SWOSU, she was awarded Outstanding Senior Business Administration, Who’s Who among College Students, President of the Student Government Association., Outstanding Senator Award, and she serves as the only Student Member on the selection board of naming the new President (Jo Anna Hibler).

Her first job out of college was for Hoffman Pools and Spas in Weatherford, OK. Mary started in sales and marketing and worked her way up to General Manager for Scott Hoffman. He too is a Southwestern graduate. She left Hoffman Pools and Spas and returned to Southwestern to work on her Masters in which she took the position of a Graduate Assistant in the School of Business. In January of 1995 she took a job in the corporate world and worked for a Fortune 500 Company, Pitney Bowes, for 9 years.
She was an Account Manager and traveled extensively in this position. Mary then went to work for CPD Home Medical where she was in Medical Sales and Marketing. Her territory was Western Oklahoma. The company is owned by a Southwestern graduate and President of the SWOSU Foundation Board, Eddie Tom Lakey of Sayre, OK.

Mary is currently is owner the Homestead Tile & Closing LLC and the New Cordell Tag Agency in Cordell with fellow SWOSU Alumna Valerie Fariss. (Class of ’93).

When asked why she has chosen to serve SWOSU as an Alumni Board Member, Regier said, “As you can see by my past history Southwestern Oklahoma State University is very dear to me. I was asked to serves as a Board Member and with no hesitation said “Yes”. I truly believe in this University and all that it can offer to the students. I want to continue to see Southwestern be a positive influence in young people’s lives. After high school a person has many choices to make and one is higher education. If by my involvement and affiliation with Southwestern can help a person make a choice, I feel like I have led them in the right direction for their career path. My degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University has given me many opportunities in life and I just want to give back what it has given to me.”
