Southwestern Oklahoma State University

Annual Report: Letter from the Chair

Dear SWOSU Supporters:

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my pleasure to present this annual report and thank you for your support.

During 2012, the board welcomed three new trustees: E. Vann Greer Andrews, Don Roberts and Joey Sager. These past SWOSU graduates are strongly committed to Southwestern and have already made a difference with their experience and insights.

Through your continued support and the returns on your donations, we were able to grant over 250 scholarships in 2012–2013. Today the assets of the Foundation total $17,034,161.

State funding for the University’s operating budget has dropped from 82% in 1984 to the current 44.3%. To help the institution maintain its growth, it is vital that private support consistently increase.

We have some key goals for the coming year, which present themselves in the kick- off of our Capital Campaign - Empowered2Xcel. We will be increasing funds for our main priorities - students, programs, technology, facilities and future endowments. We are excited to lay this groundwork and to realize the vision and mission of the SWOSU Foundation.

Thanks again,

Jim Mogg
