Harvey Minton of Weatherford, OK is a member of the Board of Directors for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association and is also on the SWOSU Foundation Board of Trustees.
There are 43 directors who lead and direct the SWOSU Alumni Association in its many activities including Homecoming, Alumni Recognition, Special Events, Campus Beautification, and other projects.
Minton is originally from Oakwood, OK. He received his B.S. in Accounting in 1964 and then graduated from the Executive Management Program at Penn State University in 1973. Following his time at SWOSU, Harvey began a career with Conoco, where he held various positions in Tax Function in Ponca City, OK, Stamford, CT, Pittsburg, PA and Wilmington, DE. He was selected as Vice President, Tax in 1983 and continued in that position until transferring to DuPont in late 1987 (DuPont had acquired Conoco in 1981). Then, from 1987-1999, Minton worked for DuPont de Nemours & Company. He served as Director, Business Services, Polymer Products from 1987 to 1990. In 1990, he was elected Vice President, Taxes for DuPont and Companies and held that position until retiring on January 1, 2000.
During his career, Harvey served various organizations including the American Petroleum Institute Joint Committee on Taxation where he served as Vice-President and President, the American Coal Association Tax Committee, the Federal Income Tax Study Group, the American Mining Congress, and National Association of Manufactures Tax Committee.
Harvey’s primary interest in serving on SWOSU’s Alumni Board is in helping the school to grow and prosper. “SWOSU is a tremendous asset to Weatherford and surrounding communities. Encourage everyone to find an area of interest they can participate in and support.”
