Justin Tinder

Sports Information Director

Justin Tinder joined the SWOSU athletic staff in July of 2004 and leads the school’s publicity efforts for its 12 intercollegiate sports. Among his responsibilities are developing and coordinating design and printing projects for all athletics publications, posters, and schedule cards; serve as liaison between the Athletic Department and Web Services in the management of the school’s athletic website; and work with media in developing and covering stories and games featuring SWOSU student-athletes, coaches and teams.

Tinder came to SWOSU after previously working as the Director of Media/Community Relations for the Oklahoma City RedHawks, the Triple-A baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
A 1990 graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Tinder has worked in sports information field for 17 years including stints SID stints at NWOSU, East Central University and the Lone Star Conference.

He has served on the media staff at four NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournaments, two football bowl games, two Big XII baseball tournaments, one PGA Golf Championship and with the University of Oklahoma during the 2003 football season.

Tinder recently completed course work for his master’s degree in sports administration from SWOSU. He and his wife, Nancy, have two young sons: Ryan (3) and Lucas (1).
