SWOSU Announces Student-Athlete Honor Roll

May 22, 2006

WEATHERFORD – Southwestern Oklahoma State University recognized 96 student-athletes who obtained an elevated level of success in the classroom during the spring 2006 semester. The SWOSU scholar-athlete program recognizes those students with at least a 3.0 grade point average (4.0 scale) and 12 or more hours during the semester. Each student was counted only once, although some student-athletes participated in two or more sports.

“It is an honor to recognize student-athletes who demonstrate what the college experience is all about,” Cecil Perkins, SWOSU Director of Athletics, said. “Their commitment to excellence on and off the field is outstanding and should serve as an example to all.”

The SWOSU football team led the way with 19 players on the scholar athlete list. The SWOSU softball team (75%, 12-of-16) and men’s golf (58%, 7-of-12) had the highest percentage of team members on the academic list.
