Baseball Team Raises $4,450 with Project

WEATHERFORD – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball scholarship program was made richer, considerably richer, thanks to the generosity of the South Canadian Valley Little League Baseball organization.

SCVL vice president Gary Pigg presented baseball coach Charles Teasley with a check of $4,450 in a ceremony on campus Wednesday. The money was payment for the SWOSU baseball program’s assistance with league’s season-ending tournament. Members of the SWOSU baseball team worked concessions, administered the gate and also umpired the 16-team, three-day tournament last month.

“We really appreciate the league and its willingness to allow us a built in fundraiser within their tournament,” Teasley said. “We’ve been doing this for the last three years. Through their support we are able to help supplement our scholarship program for future student-athletes.”
