Southwestern Oklahoma State University's baseball program was the recipient of a new portable batting cage courtesy of the SWOSU Athletic Association, formerly known as the Bulldog Booster Club. The purchase of the $3,500 batting cage is just one of many projects the Athletic Association is currently working on to aid in the funding efforts throughout SWOSU's athletic program. Southwestern Oklahoma State University's baseball program will sport a new state-of-the-art, portable batting cage to use for practice prior to the upcoming season. The $3,500 cage was purchased by the SWOSU Athletic Association as part of its ongoing efforts to aid the university in its funding of the school's athletic department.

The new cage replaces a homemade model that had been used for the better part of two decades, according to head coach Charles Teasley.

Among many of the cage's features are its ability to quickly retract and to be moved with little effort to anyplace on the field.

This is something that we've needed for quite some time," Teasley said. "It certainly will allow us a lot more flexibility than our old model. It has a good look and it's something that we will use with pride for many, many years. A big thank you to the Athletic Association and all the people who made this purchase possible."
