WEATHERFORD, Okla. - SWOSU, now 4-16 overall, continues its conference crossover play Friday and Saturday when it visits Angelo State University in a four-game series at San Angelo, Texas.

In the first game, SNU came up with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to break open what had been a 3-3 ballgame. Alex Pagan’s two-out single off Bulldog reliever Brian Wortham put the Crimson Storm ahead 5-3.

The Bulldogs battled back to tie the game at 3-all after trailing early. Kenny Hare blasted his second home run of the season, a solo shot in the second, to trim SNU’s lead to 3-2. Moose Whathen then tied the game with an RBI single that scored Tristan Cummings with a run in the fifth.

In the second game, SNU got off to a quick start peppering SWOSU starter Jeff Keller with seven runs in the opening frame for a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs did scramble back thanks in part to the hitting of Ryan Starzenski who went four-for-five with three RBI’s. Starzenski’s two-run double in the fifth brought SWOSU to within four runs at 12-8. However, that margin did not last long as SNU scored six runs in its final at bat and won by an 18-8 score.
