April 11, 2007
RICHARDSON, Texas -- Sophomore designated hitter Moose Wathen became the second Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball player and the third overall to be selected by the Lone Star Conference as the North Division Hitter-of-the-Week.
Wathen hit. 385 (five-for-13) and drove in six runs as the Bulldogs moved into first place in the LSC North Division after winning three-of-four games last week against Central Oklahoma and Cameron. Twice Wathen had the game-tying RBI with singles in SWOSU's last time at bat in a two-game sweep of Cameron Saturday.
Wathen, a native of Altus, is second on the team in hitting at .342. He joins Tristan Cummings, as the only other Bulldog player to be recognized for the weekly award by the LSC.
