Basball Bags $3,000 Check

WEATHERFORD, Okla.  – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball scholarship program was made richer, considerably richer, thanks to the generosity of the South Canadian Valley Little League Baseball organization.

SCVL President Fred Schamburg, vice president Gary Pigg and secretary Marsha Pigg presented new Bulldog baseball coach Scott Selby with a check of $3,375 in a ceremony on campus Wednesday. The money was payment for the SWOSU baseball program’s assistance with SCVL’s season-ending tournament. Members of the SWOSU baseball team worked concessions, administered the gate, prepared the field and also umpired the 30-team, three-day tournament this month.

“We really appreciate the league and its willingness to allow us to help with their tournament,” Selby said. “The group really went the extra mile and assisting us again this year. We hope our partnership with the SCVL will last for many more years to come.”
