Baseball To Host Tryout

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball team will be holding open tryouts for players who have graduated from high school in 2008 or before on Friday, June 6 at 1 p.m. Participants do not need to register and there will be no cost.
All tryout participants must provide proof of a passed physical examination within the last academic year or within six months. Those who have attended college or currently in one must provide an unofficial transcript. Those who have attended a four-year institution must provide an unofficial transcript and a written release from the institution.
The tryout will begin at exactly 1:00 p.m. at the SWOSU Baseball Complex. All players will be timed in the 60-yard dash. Infielders and outfielders will be evaluated on their fielding, throwing and hitting.
Pitchers will throw in the bullpens and will be evaluated on their mechanics, off speed stuff, and fastball velocity.
Players are requested to bring their own gloves, shoes and bats. Baseballs will be provided and bats as needed.
The SWOSU baseball complex is located one mile north of the SWOSU campus on Caddo Road.
