WEATHERFORD – Southwestern Oklahoma State University put together one of its best shooting efforts in recent memory to pull away from a stubborn University of Science and Arts team for a 93-79 victory in a men’s basketball game Monday in Weatherford.

Clarke Hale and Marcus Millender each scored 24 points and led a Bulldog team that ended the game connecting on 61% (33-of-54) of their shots from the field. The win pushed SWOSU’s record to 2-0 on the young season while USAO fell to 0-4.

SWOSU held a 76-71 lead late before an 8-0 run that was sparked by Millender’s three-pointer put the game out of reach. Millender scored five of the eight points and SWOSU’s lead was 84-71 with 3:15 to play.

Reggie Gunn, who was held to just one point in the opener against Arkansas Tech, came alive in the first half scoring 18 of his 20 points. Gunn made four-of-five three pointers during that stretch and SWOSU carried a 46-41 lead into the locker room.
