December 5, 2006
WEATHERFORD – The first 400 fans attending the Southwestern Oklahoma State University basketball game Thursday night will receive a free Bulldog Basketball T-shirt courtesy of Weatherford’s 1st Place Printing. Doors for the game will open one hour in advance with the first T-shirts handed out beginning at 5 p.m.
The T-shirt promotion is one of several such events that are planned throughout the year for Bulldog basketball games, according to Rouben Tourian assistant director of athletics.
The Bulldogs opponent Thursday night will be Lone Star Conference South Division rival Midwestern State University.
Coach Shelly Pond and her SWOSU women’s team will be playing at home for the first time this season. Midwestern State enters the contest with a 2-3 mark and losers of three straight. The Mustangs were beaten by 19 points (84-65) at home by Southeastern Oklahoma State in their last game.
Coach Todd Thurman and his men are the first LSC team to reach seven wins this season. The Bulldogs are undefeated and have averaged winning each contest by more than 10 points a game.
Midwestern State is 3-1 but also losers of their last game, a 22-point (92-70) loss at home to Southeastern Oklahoma State.
The women’s game is expected to tipoff at 6 p.m. with the men’s to follow at approximately 8 p.m.
