May 23, 2007

Southwestern Oklahoma State University basketball coach Todd Thurman has announced that three players who have collegiate experience have signed national letters-of-intent to attend SWOSU and play basketball for the Bulldogs next season.

The group of signees include Trevor Guy of Stephen F. Austin, Tanner Hazelbaker of Oklahoma Christian and Jordan Frosch of South Plains Junior College. Thurman said he hopes to add one or possibly two more players before the fall semester begins.

“Each of these three will bring a special skill set that we need in order to continue to be successful in the Lone Star Conference,” Thurman said. “We have added some size and toughness with Trevor and Jordan while Tanner will help at guard with his ball handling abilities.”

Guy, a 6-6, 220 pound forward, has one more season of eligibility remaining. He played in 25 of 29 games for the NCAA Division I school where he averaged 2.9 points and 2.0 rebounds. As a high schooler at Memphis, Texas, he set a school career scoring record with 3,103 points while playing for his father, Ricky. He averaged 24.2 points and nine rebounds and was a three-time selection to the all-state first team.

Hazelbaker, is a 6-0, 175-pound guard who will be a sophomore at SWOSU. He played in 22 of 26 games for Oklahoma Christian and averaged 3.4 points per game. He played at Twin Falls High School in Iowa where he was a member of the all-state team.

Frosch, is a 6-7, 240-pound forward who has two years of eligibility remaining. He was a member of South Plains team that finished as the Texas Region V runner-up with a 26-7 record.
