Millender Tours with AIA Team

XENIA, Ohio— Southwestern Oklahoma State University basketball player Marcus Millender will be one of the 11-member Athletes in Action basketball team that will be competing in Mexico City, Mexico from June 9 –June 23. The team arrived in Xenia, Ohio on June 3 for training camp at AIA’s World and Resource Training Center prior to their departure.
The team will play games in Mexico City against Mexican university teams, American university teams currently in Mexico, and against two Mexican sport clubs. One of the universities the team will compete against is the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which has almost 300,000 students and is one of the largest universities in the world. The squad will also compete against the highly-regarded Puma club team.
Athletes in Action regularly uses the unique platform of sport to help people around the world with questions of faith. While involved with the team Millender will have the opportunity to use his love of basketball to share his Christian faith with opponents and fans alike.
Coaching the team will be Jeff Bussell, an assistant coach at William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA.
Millender, a native of Houston, Texas, will be a senior guard on the SWOSU Bulldog basketball team. He averaged 10 points and 2.6 assists on a team that finished the season with a 17-10 record.
