November 22, 2008

Kendall Smith
Kenneth White had 23 points and Jerard Campbell added 16 for the Bulldogs who upped their unbeaten record to 3-0 on the season with the easy win.
USAO, which pushed Lone Star Conference North favorite Central Oklahoma into overtime yesterday, was no match for the Bulldogs and fell to 3-2 on the year.
SWOSU had its best shooting effort of the season making 29-of-58 attempts for an even 50%. The Bulldogs were particularly efficient from three-point distance making nine-of-22 attempts for 41%. USAO did not do as well thanks to the Bulldogs relentless defensive pressure. The Drovers connected on 22-of-53 attempts for 42% and made just five-of-19 (26%) attempts from three-point distance.
SWOSU found itself in front 14-4 after the first seven minutes of play only to see the Drovers come back and pull within one point at 17-16 at the midpoint of the first half. The Bulldogs outscored USAO 25-8 over the last 10 minutes and went to the locker room with a comfortable 42-24 cushion.
The Bulldogs grew their lead to as many as 22 points before the teams exchanged baskets over the last 15 minutes.
Clarke Hale was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 13.
SWOSU outrebounded USAO by a 44-36 margin. Campbell had 11 rebounds to lead both teams.
The Bulldogs will next play Friday against Washburn University in a game scheduled to be played on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
