Smith Wins LSC Award

RICHARDSON, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University basketball star Kendall Smith was selected as the Lone Star Conference North Division Basketball Player-of-the-Week for his efforts in leading the Bulldogs to a 73-67 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Smith, a 6-3 senior guard from Cherokee, scored a career-high 29 points in the contest while making eight-of-11 shots from the field. He was five-of-seven from three-point distance and a perfect eight-for-eight from the free throw line.

Smith is averaging 18.3 points through the Bulldogs first six games and has been one of the primary reasons SWOSU has enjoyed an undefeated start this year. The Bulldogs are one of only two LSC men’s basketball teams that are undefeated so far this season.
