Dawson Earns LSC Player-Of-Week Honor

Richardson, TX - Southwestern Oklahoma State basketball star Julie Dawson was selected by the Lone Star Conference as the North Division women’s player-of-the-week.

Dawson (6-0, Sr., F., Arnett) averaged 21.5 points and 7.0 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to victories over Northeastern State and Central Oklahoma last week. The two wins improved SWOSU to 11-9 on the year and put them in first place in the LSC North Standings with a record of 4-1.

Dawson has scored in double figures 19 of the past 20 games, including 15 straight. She leads SWOSU in scoring (16.6 ppg.), field goal percentage (47.6%), free throw percentage (81.3%) and three-point percentage (41.0%).

Dawson and the Bulldogs will again be in action Saturday as they take on second-place Texas A&M-Commerce in a pivotal division matchup on the road.
