WEATHERFORD – Dru Tomaszewski’s banked home an off-balance, three-pointer at the buzzer to send Southwestern Oklahoma State University to a dramatic 65-62 victory over Lincoln University in a women’s basketball game Saturday in Weatherford.
Tomaszewksi, who finished with a game-high 15 points for the Bulldogs, drilled the game winner capping a stunning comeback in which the Bulldogs overcame a six-point hole in the game’s final two minutes.
The win snapped what had been a five-game losing streak for SWOSU and improved its overall record to 3-6. Lincoln fell to 1-8 on the year.
Jeri Gilmore had 15 points in her best game as a Bulldog and started SWOSU’s charge with a short jumper to close Lincoln’s lead at 59-55 with 2:44 to play. Tomaszewski scored later and the Bulldogs were within two at 1:30 to play at 59-57.
SWOSU got another big basket when Grace Anne Jones buried a running three-pointer that pulled SWOSU within one at 61-60 with a 1:01 to play.

Kelli Krows
Lincoln’s Brezette Elder-Wade made one of two free throws to tie the game at 62-62 with 29 seconds to play.
The second half was quite the contrast from a sloppy first half that saw neither team make better than 35% of their shots. SWOSU found its offensive rhythm in the second half and canned 15-of-24 shots for 62% and scored 40 points in the game’s final 20 minutes. Lincoln was right behind making 56% of its shots and scoring 38 points.
The Bulldogs will next play Wednesday, Dec. 20 against Arkansas Tech in Weatherford. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
