WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University rode the hot shooting of junior guard Kadee Carter to a 58-52 victory over East Central University Wednesday in Weatherford.

Carter scored a team-high 13 points and hit the go-ahead basket to help the Bulldogs beat back a pesky ECU team. Carter’s three pointer with 3:05 to play sparked a 10-3 run and put SWOSU in front to stay at 51-49. Carter scored 12 of her 13 points on three-point baskets.

Lucy Ramon had 12 points and Grace Anne Fath added 10 points for the Bulldogs who improved to 10-6 overall and 1-0 in the Lone Star Conference North Division.

ECU, which fell to 9-6 and 0-1, was led by Lacey Goldwire with 27 points.

SWOSU had a lead by as many as 13 points in the first half only to see ECU climb back in the game when the Bulldogs started the second half cold. SWOSU scored one point in the first seven minutes of the second half. The Tigers managed to tie it at 36-36 when Goldwire hit a layup with 14 minutes to play.
