Jenna Sprague
The lopsided win against the pre-season Lone Star Conference North favorites improved SWOSU’s record to 11-8 overall and 2-2 in division play. A&M-Commerce fell to 14-6 and 3-2 with the loss.
Sophomore forward Jenna Sprague had her best game of the season taking over for Lucy Ramon who spent all but four minutes of the first half on the bench in foul trouble. Sprague scored 22 points and controlled the paint particularly in the first half. Her play helped the Bulldogs to a 37-28 halftime lead.
The Bulldogs then put it away with a 21-8 blitz to open the second half. Ramon went to work after a two-point first half and led SWOSU’s surge. She finished the game with 17 points. Her three-point play with 13:33 to play put SWOSU comfortably in front, 58-38.

Kadee Carter
Britney Jordan led Commerce with 28 points on 10-of-26 shooting.
Grace Anne Fath stretched her double-figure scoring streak to six straight games with 18 points for the Bulldogs. She, along with Sprague and Ramon, were the only three Bulldogs to score 10 or more points.
SWOSU made 51% of its shots on 29-of-57 attempts. Commerce was an anemic 33% making just 19 baskets in 58 attempts. Both teams were an identical 21-of-27 from the free throw line.
The Bulldogs will next play at home Saturday, Feb. 2 against Cameron University. Tipoff for the game is set for 2 p.m.
