March 1, 2008

LAWTON, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University put the finishing touches on its basketball season with a 69-61 victory over Cameron University Saturday in Lawton.

Grace Anne Fath had 22 points and sparked a frenetic late-game stretch where the Bulldogs got back a lead that was lost earlier. The win ended SWOSU’s season at 15-12 overall and 6-6 in the Lone Star Conference North Division. SWOSU ended up tied for fourth with Southeastern Oklahoma State University in the division. The Bulldogs lost their post-season tournament hopes on a tiebreaker because SOSU had a better record against higher ranked North teams.

Tiffany Williams had 22 points for the Aggies who end the season at 4-12 and 1-11 in the North Division.

The game was even throughout with no team leading by more than eight points. The lead changed hands seven times and was tied nine others.

SWOSU finished making 44% of its shots on 23-of-52 attempts while Cameron made 43% on 25-of-58 attempts. The Bulldogs enjoyed a better shooting percentage at the free throw line making 79% of their shots on 15-of-19 attempts. CU made just six-of-11 free throws for 55%.
