Burdan Wins Top Defensive Honor

RICHARDSON, Texas -- Southwestern Oklahoma State University basketball player Allie Burdan was recognized by coaches in the Lone Star Conference as one of the two top defensive players in the North Division.
Burdan, a 5-7 junior guard from Claremore, shared the women’s award with Central Oklahoma’s Christina Yarbrough.
Burdan, who came to SWOSU after two years at Northern Oklahoma College-- Tonkawa, started all 27 games for the Bulldogs. She routinely drew the opponent’s top scorer and ended the year second on the team in steals with 33 swipes. She averaged 4.4 points. 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
SWOSU finished the year with a 15-12 record.
