Ingram Finishes Fourth, Sets Personal Best at ACU Meet

Abilene, TX - Southwestern Oklahoma State cross country star Rachel Ingram turned in yet another impressive effort finishing fourth at the Abilene Christian University Cross Country Classic Friday.

Ingram, a sophomore from Springfield , Mo., competed in a field of 68 runners and was clocked with a personal-best 18:07 in the three-mile race at Abilene ’s Sherrod Park . She finished behind Sally Kipegs of South Plains College who ran posted world-class time of 16:55 and ACU teammates Trina Cox and Olha Kryv’Yak who ran 17:04 and 17:44, respectively.

As a team, SWOSU finished in sixth place in the seven-team field with 125 points. ACU won the meet with 34 points thanks to having runners finish first, second and fourth.

Other SWOSU runners in the event and times are as follows: Kate Hollenshead 32nd at 21:29; Jamie Belusko 34th with 21:47, Whitney Watson in 38th at 22:11 and Heather Wallace 40th at 22:28.

The Bulldogs, under the leadership of coach Melanie Miller, will next race Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Missouri Southern Invitational in Joplin, Mo.
