SWOSU's Ingram Wins Oklahoma State Meet

Stillwater, OK – Southwestern Oklahoma State cross country star Rachel Ingram added another title to her growing list of accomplishments, finishing first at the prestigious Oklahoma State University Jamboree Saturday in Stillwater.Ingram, a sophomore from Springfield, Mo., was the first finisher in a field featuring 214 runners from 25 schools across the region. She covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:18, six seconds ahead of Angelo State’s Trista McIntyre.
The meet title was Ingram’s second of the season. She won the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational last week in Shawnee. She ran the same event last year and finished 72nd with a time of 19:33.
OSU’s Jamboree was divided into two separate races. Schools from the larger NCAA Division I schools ran in the university event while SWOSU and other smaller schools raced in the college division.
SWOSU finished 21st as a team with 510 points. Angelo State, a team in the Lone Star Conference, won the college division with 138 points.
Individually for SWOSU, Heather Wallace finished 115th with a time of 23:01, Jamie Belusko was 124th with a time of 23:29, Kate Hollenshead was 128th at 23:34, Whitney Watson was 142nd at 24:09 and Carina Gamino was 160th with a time of 28:56.
SWOSU, under the direction of coach Melanie Miller, will next race Saturday, Oct. 8 at Southern Nazarene University. The Bulldogs will host the LSC Cross country meet in Weatherford Saturday, Oct. 22.
