SWOSU Runs Final Tuneup Before Hosting LSC Meet

Fayetteville, AK – Southwestern Oklahoma State got in one last race before returning home to host the Lone Star Conference Cross Country championship meet by competing at the University of Arkansas/Chile Pepper Festival Saturday in Fatyetteville, Ark.SWOSU finished 31st in a 38-team that were made up of several major college schools. The Bulldogs were one of four LSC teams competing in the event and finished ahead of Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central. Abilene Christian finished in 11th place. A total of 299 runners competed in the event.
The top SWOSU runner again was Rachel Ingram who finished in 62nd place with a time of 22:13. Ingram finished behind three other ACU runners Olha Kryv’Yak (9th), Trina Cox (25th) and Adeh Mwamba (40th). All four are expected to compete for the individual title at the LSC meet Saturday at Weatherford’s Prairie West Golf Course.
The top finisher in the event was Wichita State’s Desiraye Osburne who turned in a time of 20:17.
Other SWOSU runners were Heather Wallace in 246th place with a time of 26:20, Kate Hollenshead in 247th with a time of 26:25, Whitney Watson in 264th with a time of 27:14, Jamie Belusko in 280th with a time of 28:26 and Carina Gamino in 298th with a time of 33:42.
