Ingram Earns National Meet Berth

Weatherford, OK - Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Rachel Ingram secured her spot in the NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country Championships by placing among the top finishers at the South Central Regional Meet held Saturday at Abilene, Texas.Ingram, a sophomore from Springfield, Mo., placed fourth in a regional field of 127 runners with a time of 22:59 in the six-kilometer race at Sherrod Recreational Park. Ingram earned the national meet berth by being one of the top two individual finishers from non-qualifying teams and by finishing among the overall top five.
She joins an elite list of 184 runners from across the nation who will vie for the NCAA Division II title Nov. 19 at Pomona, Calif. near the campus of California State Polytechnic University.
Ingram has already earned all-conference honors by finishing fourth in the LSC meet held last month at Weatherford. She has won two meets this year at Oklahoma State University Jamboree and the Oklahoma Baptist Bison Invitational.
