Ingram Wins OSU Meet Again

STILLWATER – Southwestern Oklahoma State University cross country star Rachel Ingram made it two-for-two winning her second straight Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree in as many years. Ingram breezed past 192 fellow competitors to finish the five-kilometer race in a time of 18:37, 10 seconds ahead of second-place Maggie Kimani of Butler Community College.Ingram’s winning time in last year’s event was 19:18 came against 214 runners.
SWOSU also got a top 10 finish by race newcomer Stefanie Jones who was seventh with a time of 19:14.
SWOSU as a team finished 13th with 318 points. A total of 21 teams were entered in the collegiate division, including six other Lone Star Conference teams. Angelo State won the team competition by having three runners finish 13th or better. ASU finished with 126 points.
Other SWOSU runners and their finish are as follows: Kate Hollenshead was 77th with a time of 21:18; Afton Hoover was 109th with a time of 22:35 and Emily Haskins was 124th with a time of 23:27.
The next meet for the SWOSU women, under the direction of coach Josh Musick, is the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14.
