Cross Country Adds Six

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University women's cross country coach Josh Musick today announced the commitments of six student-athletes who will be added to the Bulldog roster for the 2009 season.

Among those committing are Kelsey Orange of Buffalo; Jill Graham of Carnegie; Sarah Hix of Tahlequah; Zandra Allen of Glenpool;  Chelsey Dillon of Mabank, Texas and Brittany Strickland of Paris, Texas.

SWOSU's women's cross country program has experienced tremendous success under the direction of Musick who is set to enter his fourth year with the program. SWOSU's cross country team annually qualifies runners the NCAA Division II National Meet and is a strong contender for Lone Star Conference supremacy each year.

Kelsey Orange, 5-6, Fr., Buffalo, Okla.
Two -sport standout at Buffalo High School in both track and basketball...Tough runner who consistently turns in mile times of 5:30 or less.

Chelsey Dillon, 5-6, Fr., Mabank, Texas

3A state champion in cross country at Mabank High School...Finished sixth in the state track meet in the two-mile...Has once ran 4,000 meter race in a time of 11:40...Won meets at Mesquite, Ennis and Palestine.

Jill Graham, 5-5, Fr., Carnegie, Okla.
Ran in class 2A state cross country meet for Carnegie.

Sarah Hix, 5-3, Fr., Tahlequah, Okla.
Won class 5A state title in 3,200 meter with a time of 12:12.07...Also medaled in the 1,600 meter run and 3,200 meter relay.

Zandra Allen, 5-2, Fr., Glenpool, Okla.
Ran in class 3A state cross country championships for Glenpool.

Brittany Strickland, 5-10, Sr., Paris, Texas
Two-year member of SWOSU softball team...Ran cross country as a high schooler...One year of eligibility left.
