Pete Wilkening joins the SWOSU staff in 2006 after spending one year as an assistant coach at his alma matter Texas A&M-Commerce. He along with current SWOSU offensive coordinator, Russell Gaskamp, were both on the Lions coaching staff in 2005.

At SWOSU, Wilkening will coordinate the video production efforts for the Bulldogs and be responsible for coaching the tight ends.

A native of Katy, Texas, Wilkening was a 2001 selection to the Lone Star South Division all-conference team where he was a standout offensive center for the Lions. As a high schooler, he played on the 1997 5A state title team at Katy where he was a starting guard on a line that was regarded as one of the best in the state.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction science from TAMC and is currently completing work on his master’s degree at SWOSU.
